There are bigger things than me in this world. The world doesn't revolve around me, or my friends, it does not stop when I am sad,or happy. There are bigger things in this world like life or death and the knowledge of God.
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding;
Proverbs 2:1-6
I have found that in my pursuit of knowledge, I am quick to have an opinion on things I have yet to experience. There's such beauty in the observation of the truly wise, of the husband and wife who have spent their lives serving Christ through many deaths, disappointments, and discouragements. Or the refugee who has lost all that they own and still seek to work out their salvation with fear, trembling and reverence for the Almighty God. The sex slave that has been raped repeatedly every night and after her rescue she seeks comfort and seeks to pursue the Lord and obey his commandments.
I look at my life and realize that I have been blessed beyond measure with the material things of this world. Everything I need I have gotten no need to list them but the Lord has blessed me abundantly but there is something very similar to me and others that have different stories than mine and that is that we exist to glorify God.
God is glorified with death and with life, he's glorified in the most mundane moments and He's glorified in situations of rescue and while he does not delight in wickedness.
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;evil may not dwell with you. Psalm 5:4
I am finding that in tragedies and misfortune God speaks in volume unfathomable.
God does not owe me anything and yet he gives me more than I deserve and he states the plethora of promises in his word all of which he is faithful to fulfill. With all this said in the middle of my ramblings I find that there is much to learn about Life. There is much to learn about Christ and God, his beauty and his glory.
It seems as though in this culture there are so many opinions without any facts, most want to document experiences that they haven't really lived through. I am guilty of such things and in that one thought I am reminded that I am the student not the teacher.
I want to know God and live to show his glory, his mercy, his discipline and his love. So I'm putting and praying for Christ to put my life into perspective in this season. It is one that I have never experienced before and I have no preadvice for something I have yet to experience.
I know that God is faithful, that he is strong, that he loves me and will never leave me and if you are his, this too is true for you. So I will be seeking the Lord thru this season of uncertainty and reevaluating some known truths that I have started to forget at times.
Letting my words be few, praying for all of the individuals,families,friends that are in the middle of a storm or a quiet place, praying that we seek God more than we seek anything else on earth.
